This is the third copy of this particular book in the series I have bought. I've had them all since they were published and have read them over and over and over. Fortunately I have been able to get the original cover on the books I've replaced. My only complaint is the books are not on Kindle. The print in the books is very VERY small and getting harder and harder to read..

I've been reading and re-reading the Belgariad and the Mallorean for may years. Now I have them on my kindle. This is the last book in the Mallorean and Eddings makes a great effort to tie up many of the loose ends in the series and to potentially set the scene for a further series of books about Polgara's twins (never happened sadly). The book and the series swing along with some emotional highs and lows. The action is well written and the interplay between the characters is as wryly humourous as ever.

This is the last book you should read...go find pawn of prophecy and work your way here, you are welcome. The characters are exactly what you want them to be.

While this may not be Chekhov or Fitzgerald, if you are looking for a good fantasy adventure with quirky, lovable characters, plenty of action, magic, adventure, strong, dynamic female characters, more magic, evil gods, trolls, fairly graphic battle scenes, even more magic, and knights in shining armor, this is definitely for you.

You will never go wrong with a David & Leigh Eddings books. The violence and sexual content is far worse on shows like Law and Order. They tell a great story but the violence and sexual reference are not detail to the point of blood and gore. The sexual content is more about the falling in love then detailing sexual acts. I would like a 10 year old read the books.

My daughter in law bought the first four books in this series for herself, and then couldn't get into them, so she passed them on to me. I read the first one and was hooked. Just recently bought this one and finished it, and now I am eagerly awaiting the prequel trilogy to see how it all started. I am now a confirmed fan of David Eddings, and I am looking forward to reading more of his books. Get the whole series... you won't want to put them down!

I love this series These books (Belariad and Malloreon series) was my introduction to fantasy quests. I have read them all numerous times.
I mourn the loss of David Eddings.
Please read these books.
The conclusion of both the Belgariad and the Mallorean is by far the culmination of one of the best fantasy series I've ever read. If you like high fantasy, then you must read both of these 5 book series.
