Emir's audacity causes the God to vanish without answering his question-but then, back home, aided by an invisible girl named Inspiration, Emir thinks up the answer himself: we must all go off and leave our bodies so that they can be remade for somebody else. Which Emir does, showing the way, and attaining a wonderful moment of enlightenment as he takes his new place at the head of the Parade of Life. Death, it seems, is merely a period of waiting to return-up where the yet unborn, represented here by Sappho and Napoleon, are also waiting for their centuries to come up: ""They.

At the behest of his royal parents, Emir undertakes a difficult journey to discover death, understand the reasons for the seasons, and even figure out what life is all about. Aided by the muses of Conscience and Inspiration, our young hero finally understands that all living things must have their own seasons of birth, growth and returning to the earth.

This is a children's story with some illustrations. Presents the tale of a young man on a quest to learn the true nature of reality. Very simple, easy to understand, and heartfelt. Roberts was a master writer and I'm good form here.

She has a 0 BS quality, unlike like children's stories and fairy tales. This short softcover book is for everyone.

I loved this as a 10 or 12 year old. I was thrilled to see it still in print. So I bought it for a gift for a friends daughter. They are excited about reading it to her and then having her read it on her own when she gets older. I will probably buy another one for myself.

Originally purchased this for my own children when they were very young and as I couldn't part with the original in the house, purchased another all these years later for first grandchild. A beautiful story, well written and conducive to nurturing a sense of wonder in the reader. A great bedtime storybook.

I bought this book for my daughter about 15 years ago and she loved it. She still has it. I think anyone around the 8-12 age range would enjoy it.

A tale about the Creation of the World, the garden of Eden, the invention of death, equality between human, animal and plant kingdom. Non denominational, a magic story to explain to children their responsibility towards their planet, their parents and peers, their own fate.

This book, written by Jane Roberts, helps put some of the "Seth Material" into simple child-like terms and situations. A great bedtime storybook. Sadly, there are only a few black & white illustrations. Overall, a good book tho.

This book explores concepts of life and death and creation and time. A wonderful presentation of why death can be a good idea overall for all beings in the earth.
An excellent children's book that will speak to adults as much as children. It explores the nature of reality and how death is an integral part of life. An uplifting, fun book. Jane Roberts' novels take us on a journey beyond our accepted view of reality. In this children's tale, both adult and child go journeying together!
