Good story but sooooo frustrated with misused words & incorrect spellings - does anyone use editors anymore? "flying" pan instead of "frying" and "his" instead of "he" just to name two out of sixteen when I stopped counting. Still, the story is interesting and really enjoyed the family pictures to help thresh out an image. Please authors - use a good editor or at least peruse the grammar check function on your computer.

Could not put these books down. The author Linda K. Hubalek taped into a time and place not as written about as others. The plight of the swedish immigrants home steading in Kansas, and how the characters were portrayed was riveting. Can't say enough good things.

Wonderful third book in the series. The author excels in bringing her family history alive to show us the real history of the area where they settled.
I reccomend you read all three books in order......what a wonderful look into the life and thoughts of an amazing generation of people.
People who willing gave up all they had on the hope of a new life in a new country. A true look at what it was like for Someone to leave their home, knowing they would probably never see it or their loved ones again.
