I first read this book about 20 years ago, and I consider it a classic of the type. Michael is kept in bondage and punished severely by his caring but aloof wife, Hilda. His excess of love compells him to assist in helping her to take a lover to enjoy in front of her imprisoned slave. Hilda also tempts him with her new, young maid, who in turn seduces him (causing him extreme punishment), possesses him, and finally suffers with him under the bondage and punishment of the passionate but cold, Hilda.
