A Dangerous Game (Black Lace). I had already read this book once, but I read the other two books for the second time, so I thought I should read this one as well for a second time. And I remember myself thinking that I didn’t like this book the first time I read it. And I thought just the same the second time. How she treats herself and how she let others treat her. t’s just disgusting. She is just a bit over the top for my taste.

I was slightly puzzled as to where the erotica came in on this one. I mean yes, the heroine does have sex with every man she comes into contact with (except the one interesting one), but none of it is in any way explicit, or even kinky. I've read racier stuff in women's magazines.
The story is that the heroine goes to some SA country as a spy for an unrealistic British government org. She is punishing herself for a nebulous "Not Without My Daughter" type experience in her past. She meets the power behind the gov in this tiny fictional country, and he wants her as his whore. He treats her badly, insulting and cruel, but not particularly new or interesting. Despite how he is billed, as controlling and domineering, there's no BDSM. In fact, they are just petty cruelties, making her wait, dragging her away from parties or from surgery, things like that. Once he has her arrested and you thin "Boy oh boy, here it comes, but that fizzles, too.
The story isn't bad. It seems to flow well, but lacks depth. All in all, I'd skip it.

I have read several books in the Black Lace series, and I must admit that this was not one of the best. The plot was somewhat o.k. but the heroine lacked spirit. The situations left much to be desired. Characters could have been explored a little more and maybe even embellished. It was a bunch of uninteresting bad sex.
