Signet had the longest running Regency series, beginning in the late 1970s and ending in February 2006. It generally published three books each month, though this varied over the years. Signet also produced reissues, both of their own previous releases as well as those of other publishers. Evelyn Richardson brings her characters vibrantly to life! A triumph for any season! . There are so many Regency books out there and almost all of the authors derive some inspiration from Georgette Heyer.

There are so many Regency books out there and almost all of the authors derive some inspiration from Georgette Heyer. Of course some plot points from Heyer will be found in other Regency stories. In fact, anyone who reads very much of the genre will find a great deal of repetition. I think it is ridiculous to slam this book because there are some similarities to Heyer's "Regency Buck".

Series: Signet Regency Romance. Mass Market Paperback: 224 pages. As usual, Richardson includes almost too much historical background information, but it doesn't affect the plot. Also, her heroes tend to turn into stalkers and Christian is not exception but he's slightly less creepy than some of the others. There are a few unrealistic points, like Isobel wanting to be an opera singer in the first place, but if you don't quibble and accept the story, you won't be disappointed.
