A self-made woman : a novel. by. Harris, Ruth, 1936-. Books for People with Print Disabilities. Internet Archive Books.

The book is focused on three women who are trying to make their way during the 1960s. I stumbled across Ruth Harris when one of her novels was offered for free on the kindle best sellers list. They are trying to find their place in a world that is pro-male at the time. Each woman winds up finding their niche in life. Lincoln is a hard-worker, Elly is more laid-back, and Jane marches to the beat of her own drum. At first I thought she was another "Danielle Steele" or "Nora Roberts" (no shade) author but she is not. This novel was refreshingly honest about female/male relationships from the 1950s roughly to the 1970s.

This novel raises issues about the position of women in society over the last few decades.
