Miss Seeton by Moonlight: Heron Carvic's Miss Seeton Hardcover – Large Print, May 1, 2000. by. Hamilton Crane (Author). This book follows events in previous books and takes Miss Seaton and Bob and Ann Granger out of Plumergen to follow the trail of an art thief. The Miss Seaton series is fun and a satirize characters like Miss Marple. I love Miss Marple and this is almost an anit-Marple. Poor Miss Seaton gets muddled a bit and her 'brolly' is like a mischievous sidekick. The books are a fairly quick read and can be read over and over since the supporting characters are charming and folks you would likely want to know in real life.

A Miss Seeton Mystery. Series creator Heron Carvic. Miss Seeton was checking her list before heading for the shops when, from the front door, she heard at last the welcome rattle and thump of the letter-box. She smiled as she trotted down the hall and saw the folded Times on the mat and heard the fading jingle of the milk float as it rumbled off along the village’s only street: The Street, as this thoroughfare is proudly known to those who live in Plummergen. Miss Seeton, who lives there by inheritance, is quite as proud as any. About the Miss Seeton series. About Heron Carvic and Hamilton Crane. Sweet-natured Emily Seeton, retired art teacher and nowadays invaluable artist-aide to Scotland Yard, always tries to keep an open mind. But really, her feelings about the flamboyant Antony Scarlett, ‘the modern Rubens’ whose chosen medium is chocolate, and who is bullying her to sell her beloved cottage so he can fill it with the confection and knock it down, are anything but warm. Yet Antony persists, and while infesting Plummergen he encounters lovely redheaded Tina Holloway, his rejected muse, here recovering from his ungallant treatment. Tina is proving a talented artist herself.

Emily D. Seeton, aka Miss Seeton or MissEss is the fictional heroine of a series of British cosy mystery novels by Heron Carvic, Roy Peter Martin writing as Hampton Charles, and Sarah J. Mason writing as Hamilton Crane. Cosy Mysteries lists the books as the "Retired British Art Teacher in England Series". Miss Seeton inadvertently draws psychologically and, perhaps, psychically informative sketches that allow Inspector Delphick and his assistant Bob Ranger to solve the crime.

I usually enjoy the Miss Seeton books, even those not written my Heron Carvic (though his are by far the best). I got really tired of the harpies with their gossip and meanness, and hope, if there are more books, that won't dominate so much of the book. I had to page through this too much, and probably missed some clues by doing that, but, as I said, I'm really tired of the harpies.

I have most of the Miss Seeton books in paperback but splurged on the digital version because my books are all in storage till I find a house. The stories are light, humorous fun with engaging characters. However, I think the translation to digital was sloppy. I found more errors than I recall from the books. Still worth reading.

Funny, in a very British way. Love this series - highly unlikely happenings, yet it's nonetheless very easy to suspend disbelief. Very enjoyable reads, I've loved every one, and snap up any new ones I find immediately!

Her drawings of the village, combined with Miss Seeton’s mysterious sketches, help local police Superintendent Brinton to uncover how elderly residents fall victim to a gang of heartless criminals . .

Serene amidst every kind of skullduggery, this eccentric English spinster steps in where Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing more than her sketchpad and umbrella!

Rarely does Miss Seeton have extreme negative feeling over someone, but she does here. Her love of her home and the village of Plummergen. We are most blessed to visit with old friends and sites. As always the characters are vibrant and well developed. The descriptive writing brings the village and residents to life for me.

Word is new Miss Seeton novels are coming soon. I hope it is so and they come soon. Hopefully Sarah J Mason will continue writing the series.

My rating of "Sweet Miss Seeton" is 4.25 out of 5 stars.
