I picked this book up at Half Price Books a couple of years when I first started learning the game of poker. For a beginning poker player it's the book I would recommend more than any other. Mendelson breaks down the game so you have a clear understanding of how the game should be played, especially for a beginning poker player when the learning curve can be steep. This isn't your normal poker book of self glorification on how some grinder won the WSOP; this book takes an easy to understand but analytical approach to the game of poker.

And even for the more advanced players there's plenty of information that can help your game.

It's better than Doyle's Super System and if you can get your hands on it I highly recommend it. It's a shame that my review is the only review but if poker was a religion The Mammoth Book of Poker would be my Bible.
