First surprise when I got this book was its size: ENORMOUS!

Second surprise, was the amount of fun it gives you: I loved Dog and all his mates: Cecil, the ram (poor old Cec...), Horse (what a mean cat), the Corgi Prince Charles (cute), Jess (the literally bitch), Major (the other dog), the goose (also very mean)... The people are also great characters: Wall, Cooch, Rangi, Pongo, Aunt Dolly...

Very interesting to read about farm life on the distant (for me) New Zealand; did you know ewes like to give birth on rainy, windy nights?!!!! That sows are very mean creatures? (by the way, the farm is plenty with mean creatures...)

Great comic strip!

"Footrot Flats; The Dog Strips" is a brilliant buy, all the Footrot cartoon strips in sequence with heading notes and explanations by Murray Ball is truly a collector's item and well worth the purchase price. It goes very well with the companion book "Six Of The Best" featuring Ball's non-Footrot strips. All that is needed now is for "The Long Weekender" to become available at a similar price to complete the set.

I brought "Footrot Flats" as a birthday present for my boyfriend. As usual I left it to the last minute and had to choose "express post". Schedualed to arrive on the friday (his birthday on Sunday) I was quite worried. Much to my delight the parcel arrived a couple of days early. The book in excellent condition too! It makes an excellent present. Each page is beautifully laid out. For someone who isn't a fan of "Footrot Flats" I quite enjoyed borrowing it and got hooked!
Excellent service and quality!

With the strip finished years ago and the original books long out of print, this is the best chance you will have to get hold of a selection of some of the best strips of the series.

Easily understandable and enjoyable, even if you are not a Kiwi, FF is lovely, charming, funny, brilliant! Enjoy!

Footrot Flats: The Dog Strips: The Ultimate Collector's Edition
I purchased this book for my son who has turned 11 today. He has been drawing some of Murray Ball's cartoons from old Footrot books so his eyes will fall out of his head when he sees this huge book. The service was terrific, I paid a little extra for express mail and it got here in no time from the USA. Thank you Amazon!! Regards Meagan

One of the best daily comic strips ever done. Delightfully drawn with the insight of someone who has actually lived many of the situations depicted. A unique blend of non-anthropomorphic animals interacting with humans. Ball's artistic influences, from Punch to Roald Searle, are much in evidence, yet his style and approach is wholly his own. Should not be missed.

If there's ever been a better comic strip about life on a farm, I have yet to encounter it.
