Slice of life describes the depiction of mundane experiences in art and entertainment. In theater it refers to naturalism, while in literary parlance it is a narrative technique in which a seemingly arbitrary sequence of events in a character's life is presented, often lacking plot development, conflict and exposition, and often having an open ending.

There is no place like Jamaica. Often described as an island paradise, the sights ans sounds, the flora and fauna, the sun, sand and sea, the mountains and the music, all entice visitors and entrall residents. But far beyond all of that, the most unique quality of Jamaica is its people. In Roving with Lalah, Roving reporter Robert Lalah takes us on a journey around the island, taking a unique look at typical Jamaican life. The stories simply describes what happens in a particular place at a particular time in an authentic and true Jamaican voice. Based on the popular weekly newspaper column in the Gleaner newspaer, Roving with Lalah is a snapshot of parts of Jamaican culture and heritage sometimes not recorded and often forgotten. The stories are humourous, yet informative, and give a true account of the day to day lives of Jamaicans of all walks of life.
