Having visited the Hayward, Cable, Seeley area many times, I thought I would give this book a read, and I'm extremely glad I did. The book is an excellent compilation of the history of the area and has made me very anxious to get back for another visit. It chronicals the many different people who lived and traveled through the area, allowing me to have some understanding of what life was like when they were there. If you have been to the area or plan on going, this book will definitely enhance your visit no matter what activity you are planning. Whether it be fishing, hunting, paddling, skiing the Birkie, mountain biking the Fat Tire race, snowshoeing, hiking, attending the Lumberjack Championships or visiting the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, this book contains something relevant to why these activities are in the Northwoods and what makes them great! A MUST READ!!
