Good historical brief for the state of Georgia a few important historical facts have been left out and it really could use some editing and a grammar review. Good table top material. Used this book to get me through a test-out for my Bachelors degree, a tough exam but this book got me through it without needing to take and extra course for graduation.

I bought this so I could pass the Georgia History bypass test that you have to take if you transfered your history credits to a Georgia college/university. They have now changed the test and this book isn't much use at all. You are just as well to catch up on the history with an encyclopedia or internet sites. As advised by the Georgia regents, I used only this book, and read it twice (not knowing that they had changed up the test without notice) and barely passed because many of the questions on the new test are not covered in this book. Plus it is a very boring read.

I can't believe GSU still uses this book for their Georgia State History exam. It is racist as s*** and completely outdated. If you enjoy a completely white perspective and the word Negroes used constantly this book is for you! For reference, I'm a white dude from Washington State.

UGA uses a much better book which I also read and there is a fairly detailed history outline by the Georgia Historical Society that's really well done.

This book is what the Georgia History exam is based on. All Georgia college students must take the class or pass the test. Study this book and pass the test and save money on tuition and save time. The copy I bought was used so it helped that some sections were highlighted and underlined. That helped guide my study habits. The book is well written and not boring.
I was looking for an inexpensive copy to use to test out of a Georgia History class, and this book came very quickly at a great price!
