In explaining how the utilization of nature's healing and rebuilding laws has helped thousands of his arthritis patients regain their health, Dr. Warmbrand renders much needed service to the millions who are suffering from this extremely painful and crippling disease and who have been seeking in vain the help which they need. In this book, Warmbrand portrays the central theme of adherence to nature, the reward for which is health and a greater enjoyment of living. His is the system of total rehabilitation which he has practiced all his professional life, a system which embraces healthful nutrition, the proper use of our knowledge of physical education and certainly not least, recognition of the power of the mind in reassuring the sick and inspiring confidence toward the goal of getting well. This end result becomes so much more facilitated when a state of confidence, tranquility, and peace of mind has been given to the ill by the sincere, untiring efforts of a sympathetic physician. This method thus employs the concept of treating the individual as a whole, a living synthesis of body, mind, and spirit, and represents the direct antithesis of fragmentation or the treatment of parts.

I went to Max Warmbrand in the early 1970s when he was practicing in Connecticut. I didn't see him for arthritis. However, I had aching pains in my arms and legs since I was a small child - they were called 'growing pains' then. I hadn't thought to mention them to Dr. W., since I didn't realize they were in any way abnormal. In any case, within 6 weeks of being on his program of diet, mild exercise, and nightly Epsom salt baths, those pains went away completely and forever.

A family friend in her 60s said her arthritis completely cleared up when she stayed on Dr. W.'s diet.

Another friend, a woman in her 20's, saw Dr. W. for a uterine fibroid the size of a grapefruit. She was very fearful of the surgery the MDs wanted to perform. She followed Warmbrand's instructions and within about 2 months the fibroid was gone.

Warmbrand died long ago, but there are others practicing natural hygiene now. Dr. Joel Fuhrman, who has a large site and wrote 'Eat to Live', recommends a diet somewhat similar to Warmbrand's.

"How Thousands of my Arthritis Patients Regained their Health" contains comprehensive instructions for following Warmbrand's program on your own. It's interspersed with case studies and stories of those helped by these methods, as well as some scientific background and references. It covers all types of arthritis, including rheumatoid and osteoarthritis.

It's an easy read and will give you hope and confidence if you are suffering from this disease. Many many people have been helped through these methods.

I was a patient of Dr. Warmbrand when I was in my 20s. I had not been diagnosed with arthritis, but I had deep, painful aching in my arms and legs since I was a small child. They called them 'growing pains' then, but I think it must have been a form of arthritis. After 6 weeks on Dr. Warmbrand's regime, they were gone and they never returned.

A friend went to him, she had an ovarian cyst the size of a grapefruit that went away totally after about 10 weeks. And one of my mother's friends with severe arthritis, at that time in her early 60s, said she had no pain or other arthritis symptoms when she followed his diet.
