This book was a gift and I also purchased the workbook to go with it. I highly recommend this especially if you cannot afford to get to the conference. If is a good read and the workbook really has you digging in to the source of why you eat to fill the real voids and problems that are deep within.

I really like this book. It approached weight as the symptom of deeper issues. Addressing and overcoming those issues is what needs to happen. Your typical diet fails in the long run because it only changes what you eat. Not WHY you eat. If you run to food for comfort or emotional support you won't stick to diets when trouble comes around. This book is helping me to get real, face facts and turn it all over to God. I recommend it highly.

This covers your emotional and spiritual life, getting to the root causes of overeating. It's a tough book to go through and is a journey, not a one-day read. But it is exactly what many of us need and helped many, many people become not only physically healthy and fit, but emotionally and spiritually. Highly recommended.

Scanning throw the book and guide (separate purchase) Offers the physical, emotional, and social reasons for personal weight gain. Would be great to use as a study program with othersl
Would suggest this to others.

The book and the workbook are really faith based and delves deep into the emotional reasons for habits and lifestyles that lead to unhealthy eating and other unfulfilling things.
I am meeting with a group and it is helping us to discuss the various issues that are usually lightly touched on, in other "usual" weight loss books. This is about life changes and spiritual fulfilment.

It has helped me think deeper into the reason for overeating. Reading chapter one along with the workbook helped ne to think and be open to a saying posted on facebook. This was posted about being called a widow when someone loses a husband. An orphan when a child loses his or her parents. But the saying brought up that there isn't a specific name to call a parent that loses a child. I lost a baby through miscarriage. We all have issues that are hard to face. Steve's book puts all into perspective.

It is a good concept, but not my cup of tea!
I was disappointed in the presentation of this book. Not what I expected. Would not recommend it to others. I am currently following WW with much success.
