This was written so many years ago, but what an amazing book. I read this in 1976 and it got me interested in the importance of nutrition and the connection between food, vitamins, and disease. He describes studies, mostly done on rats, and how they reacted when one vitamin was removed from their diet, or when they were fed the same diet of juvenile delinquent girls! Fascinating, written for the layman, i loved it. He was the first to use a term, "biochemical individuality" which explained why someone could test in the normal range but have symptoms indicative of outside the normal range, and why they should be treated based on symptoms and not by some chart. I experienced this with a glucose tolerance test. I had every symptom of low blood sugar by the end of the test and could hardly walk, but the doctor said, "your tests are normal, you can go home now!" I was stunned. Finding Dr. William's book resonated with common sense. I would bet it's as relevant today as it was when he wrote it.

Nothing very special, I already knew this information from many other journals and references. I guess if you do not understand arthritis, either OS or RH then it a good primer.

First read this in the 70's. Made a lot of sense to me and still does. Caused me to start using supplements as "nutrition insurance" and have continued for many years. I am now pushing 87 and despite arthritis feel great and actively manage a 100 acre hobby farm.
