Although it is my parents who fall into the baby boomer generation more so than my husband and I do...I think this is a "must read" for everyone.... especially people commited to living a vibrant and joyful life.

Health through foods and herbs has always interested me.

I have been a vegetarian since I was around 17yrs old, then later became a vegan and finally I became a raw vegan for the last three years as I sought relief from chronic back and neck pain (from a serious accident)-doctors stated I could only be "cured" via surgery-but switching to raw foods relieved the pain that for 2 years kept me awake at night and made it painful to simply go through my day.

However, although being a raw vegan resolved the pain , it left me cold in the winters and my digestive system a mess. I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue and had digestive problems which doctors could not quite 'figure out' (IBS, pcos, Celiac disease, Enzyme deficency... you name it- they were all mentioned by doctors)-I went in every direction to get relief: from the traditional to homeopathy to acupuncture, Ayudervic, craniosacral therapy, EFT, Reiki, hypnotherapy. I tried everything. I think many of these modalities helped, but I saw a significant improvement in both my digestion and my energy level once I began to introduce certain foods and food combinations as suggested by Dona. What a blessing she and her team are!

Following Dona's advice on the bodyecology website helped convince me to try a different modality for healing and feeling better thus I was thrilled to buy this book when it came out-I read it in two days!

It is full of valuable information, written with clarity and well constructed, I found it to be an absolutely engaging and easy read.
In the book, Dona goes into much more detail than simply sharing recipes and what foods to eat..she also includes in depth explanation of our body's needs and processes: from supplements to water, from food combining to neti pots... there is SO much valuable information in this book!

BUY it, it is worth much more than the reasonable price it is offered for. It was an easy decision for me,knowing full well than in the past I have had to pay "out of network" for some of the specialists I have visited these last 4 years seeking respite and healing. This book is well worth it! Indeed, it is a gift from Dona and her team... and my family is one of many that can be grateful for their generosity in their sharing with the rest of us.

I have not finished the book, so I only gave it 4 stars so far. It is a good book that is easy to read and understand. I am not a Baby Boomer. However, why turn down good advice since I will reach these ages eventually. Like the title says, "...for Every Generation."

I think a lot of us have learned bad eating habits from our families and others we have come into contact with. Microwave food, BPA in cans, over-processed foods to make them last on the shelves and in the fridge. All these things have changed our food, and in turn have changed our bodies. When you go to other countries you see them shop for a few days worth of food only. That's because they value fresh food. In America we seem to value buying as much food as possible and storing it until we need/want it. Most of the time we eat food void of any nutrients. Why? Most of us are in a store or near a store every few days. (There are some people who live far out from stores, and I know they need to stock up.)

The book helps remind us to eat in a well rounded, higher nutrient manner. The explanations are good. The doctor input is good. I understand there is a whole program for Body Ecology, but I'll finish the book before I make any further decisions.

After just a few weeks gradually intruducing more and more aspects of the BED into my diet, I have regained energy levels I haven't experienced in a decade or more and I have effortlessly lost 15 pounds!

I love how Donna ties together all current theories in her book (ie. metabolic syndrome, blood type diet, acid /alkaline etc.) she does agreat job advocating the need for more veggies in the diet as well as fermented food. I tried the green powder and it made me extremely fatigued ( could be the algae) . I tried fermented veggies and loved the taste. I had less bloating and cravings for sweets. Unfortunately, after about a week I felt run down and started fighting off a cold. This could be die off or an allergic reaction. how does one know for sure. With 2 kids and clients to see, I stopped bc I could not take the risk.

Extremely new and helpful dietary information, convincingly written. The problem is finding or making the types of food and food combinations to make it work easily in a busy, daily lifestyle. Donna Gates helps solve that problem with her Body Ecology website, where you can get more information and order the types of dietary supplements discussed thoroughly in the book. Still, making the diet work in a routine manner is difficult, but I'm continuing to put it together a little bit at a time since I'm going to be on it forever.

I have followed Donna Gates' Body Ecology Diet since 2003 and attribute to it my greatly improved health and energy! I have gained many new ideas from the Baby Boomer Diet that have also contributed to health improvements. I will always be grateful to Donna Gates because I believe that her diet principles have saved my life! Judy

Great review of all kinds of things to do to improve health
With a lifetime of interest in this area, I find this book to be not only a revision course and reference for this knowledge, but an exciting manual to guide to the way we must go if we are to avoid world wide poor health. It is sad to see so much indifferent health despite the great discoveries and advanced techniques in current medicine, when adoption of the stratagems that Donna describes could so easily avoid this. Congratulations Donna.
