This book is a collection of stories by parents who are touched by autism daily

Doug and Laurie Flutie established the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism in honor of their son, Doug, J. who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. This book is a collection of stories by parents who are touched by autism daily. They talk about how they have had to rethink their future and to focus on what is good about right now. It is not a poor me book but a celebration of coming to terms with the blessings a different outlook brings to everyone.

I really liked this book as an alternative to the how-to books. This book is a collection of stories by parents who are touched by autism daily. They talk about how they have had to rethink their future and to focus on what is good about right now. It is not a poor me book but a celebration of coming to terms with the blessings a different outlook brings to everyone.

Very touching stories that will make you laugh, as well as cry. Must read for anyone who's life has been touched by Autism.

This book was OK. Some of the stories I had to just skip because it rubbed the salt in even more about my child's struggles and limitations. There were only a few stories that I could even slightly relate to. If your autistic child struggling at their violin recital is your kind of issue, then this book is for you. For those of us with moderate-severely autistic children... There's no comfort here.

Loved this book! It is great to know that others are having some of the same feelings that I am.

"A Cup of Comfort for Parents of Children with Autism" is a great family support book for parents as well as educators. It encourages families to strive forward, allowing them to accept and take hold of their situation. It provides support and comfort; revealing, "They are not alone". This book inspires life experiences from stories of other families. It encourages strength and love for any family situation. It provides an outlet of relaxation, laughter, tears, and motivation. As an educator, "A Cup of Comfort for Parents of Children with Autism" allows for support at home as well as within the classroom. This is a great "go to book" when the days seem long.

I have a 9.5yo son with Asperger's. It has been a roller coaster journey since he was born. I've read several compilation books about living with a child with autism, but this is BY FAR the most honest, gritty, inspiring, and joy provoking book of its kind. The stories are REAL, and there are SO MANY that the many facets of autism are shown. I nodded my head along with most of them. If you have a child on the autism spectrum, buy this book. It will soothe your soul.
I love this book as I can read a few pages while waiting in the car or in line at the school. Lovely heartwarming true life stories of families fighting and finding family love with autism.

My copy is now well worn from being passed around mother to mother.

Enjoy !
