Mickey's Duke is the first book in the gay romance series The Wilgrin Chronicles written by Vicktor Alexander which follows the romance between Michael "Mickey" Monroe and Evander Cavendish. This book was funny, sweet, and interesting. The main protagonist, Mickey, is a likeable character who has endured hardships in his life. However, the romance between Mickey and the Duke seem too rushed as they got married as soon as they met. Mickey’s conflict with his stepson Carl was a little too much to believe and Mickey’s constant doubting his pregnancy got a bit repetitive.

One where no one knew him, where he could fade into the background. Where he didn't have to worry about someone trying to beat him up at every turn. I don't like writing bad reviews, but I must do it in this case. This short story isn't worth your money. It's like... statements put together. No deep thoughts, no real background, no believable feelings. There are some very badly written clichés in it: main charachter had a bad childhood. He was abused. Feel sorry for him because it is the way of sappy romances. Or: For months, your son threathened me. My writer doesn't want to put real effort into writing those scenes though, so you must believe that it was very bad.
There are no real charachters in it. Not one. Just names with appearently nice bodies and some badly written and flat conversations between them. If it wasn't for the sex scenes and the m/m, I would say it was written by a teenager. Or a bad/beginner fanfiction writer (the mpreg is really suspicious).

I have to say I didn't have high expectations. I like light and simple stories - if they are well written. It was not. Even I could have written a better one and it's the worst I can say about a story seeing that I'm a foreigner (so my written English is very simple) without any gifts at writing.

I liked this one because it wasn't depressing however the writer in my opinion does a lot of telling instead of showing. plus there is very little dialogue between chapters which is really sad because the story is really great. I hope this writer does better with his other works or at least goes back and does a rewrite of them where he shows instead of tell's.

This book was okay but more because of what Mickey had going on than anything to do with his Duke. I knew the Duke found Mickey attractive but, like Mickey, I had no idea if he loved Mickey. There is no development of a love story but you still get a HEA. It was alright.

Would love a little more interaction between the mc's.

I thought it was an interestingly strange book. It needs to be a bit more descriptive and it was a bit too simple for me but I would recomend it. As long as ur not too picky. I did like it quite a bit.

This story is simple-mindedly simplistic. The description of it tells a better story that the novel/book itself. You don't get to know the characters or why they do what they do. The duke spends months merely having sex with Mickey, ignoring him and ignoring that his strange son is menacing the pregnant Mickey. Mickey acknowledges this but then pages later he falls in love. W T F!!!!! Who would love a person who isn't aware you're pregnant after 4 months, ignores your concerns about violence, and spends no time with you? No one normal.

There is just no story here. No meat at all to the characters. No reason to like them or care about them. No reason to want to read the story. Waste of money and an even worse waste of time.
