The Anderton Boat Lift is an attraction well worth visiting. We had a trip on the canal followed by the boat going up in the lift. Booked the boat ride with the added part of ascending in the lift. The ride in the boat lift was fab,, due to a technical hitch with a sensor ( retro fitted not by the Victorians!!!!!). Arrived by Narrow boat, 24 hr. mooring just outside lift area. Open today: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Once in holding area it was all very slick, very straight forward and very easy going. We expected the cassions to pass each other but only one cassion was working.
