Groundwater-surface water interactions impact nutrient and pollutant transport and directly affect water quality in streams and coastal ecosystems. Gaining reaches of streams receive groundwater, which affects stream discharge as well as its water quality. Groundwater can also flow directly to the ocean as submarine groundwater discharge (SGD), and can be volumetrically comparable to stream discharge  . Next, we inserted depressional wetlands into the generic landscapes and repeated the modeling exercise. The results strongly characterize groundwater connectivity from uplands to lowlands as being predominantly indirect.

This is a professionally published booklet that is extremely helpful for someone like me. It is dense with tons of important information about how surface water and ground water (water beneath the surface that we draw on with wells, etc.); these waters co-mingle more than most people realize. The graphs and diagrams are extremely useful...just like the cross-section on the cover. I plan to study it and learn all that I can from it!

Yes, this pamphlet is also available as pdf, which I converted to .docx so I could include notes throughout the book without extensive typing, a big help. The pamphlet is an excellent basic text in understanding hydrogeology.
