Norman Graham Hill OBE (15 February 1929 – 29 November 1975) was a British racing driver and team owner from England, who was the Formula One World Champion twice. He is the only driver ever to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport-the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix. He also appeared on TV in the 1970s on a variety of non-sporting programmes including panel games. He liked painting in his spare time.

Universally popular, Graham captured the public's imagination like no other racing driver of the period. The early days were spent scrounging drives in return for his services as a mechanic, before he began racing regularly in 1956 in Lotus and Cooper sports cars. In fact, he was working as a mechanic for Colin Chapman, who didn't consider him that seriously as a driver until he had proved himself elsewhere. When Lotus entered Grand Prix racing in 1958, Graham was back as a driver, making his debut at Monaco, where a wheel fell off.

Introduction by Graham Hancock. After years of travelling, exploring archaeological sites and rummaging through puzzles in ancient myths and legends I have found many reasons to suspect that the orthodox theory of human prehistory – the one that is taught in all our schools and universities – is seriously in error.

Ordinarily, my biggest problem with autobiographies is that they often descend into long, boring lists of their subjects career. But thankfully this definitely cannot be said of "Graham". It's a book that is written with a lot of humour, a tonne of anecdotes and only a loose chronological description of his career (sometimes entire seasons of F1 are skipped over in pursuit of more interesting stories!).

Graham's character comes through on every page and, considering this was published by in the mid 70's, it gives a great insight into a different world.

It's a short read (175 pages) and can be knocked off pretty easily in a few days. Also, I believe this book is long out-of-print which makes it a prized book in my F1 collection. And thanks to a good old-fashioned hard cover, the copy I purchased is still in great condition.

I always thought of Graham as one of the great racers of the 60's/70's. I have another book about his career with a lot of great pictures and a good career summary. This book is quite different. Its Graham talking to you the whole way through until you get to the end. The last part is written by his wife after the plane crash and it was really touching to hear her perspective. If you are anywhere near a F-1 fan this is a book that must be read.

Great book about an interesting man.

This is a fantastic book and a must read for anyone interested in F1's golden and most dangerous age. Graham's anecdotes are exceptionally witty and you can't help but smile as you are immersed in his world.

This book is in excellent shape for a former library book. Graham Hill was a great writer and gives a good insight to the G.P. sport and his contribution to it. He was a major driver during a very interesting period of the sport.
