I've read most part of the book. The first twelve chapters reviews fundamental knowledge of probability and statistics, and the most frequently used techniques. One feature that I like most is the involvement of traffic data. As a traffic engineer, I found it indeed pleasant to have found in a statistics book lots of examples from my practising field. Chapter 13 to Chapter 15 are unique of this book: Chapter 13 introduces three modern techniques for estimation of uncertainties. Chapter 14, which was my favorite among all the chapters, introduces general concepts of Bayesian methods and feeds with nice examples -- again, making a lot of sense to traffic professionals. Chapter 15, provides an introduction to traffic microsimulation, and how concepts and techniques discussed in previous chapters can be utilized in traffic microsimulation studies.

I recommend this book to any transportation engineer who wants to review their statistics (must have taken courses in probablility and statistics) and/or wants to add a nice reference book to his/her own library to check for important fundamental statistical concepts and techniques when needed.
