Organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) is one of the most potentially .

Organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) is one of the most potentially interesting display technologies in the flat panel display (FPD) field. The samples were stored in ambient conditions, and the IV characteristics were studied with shelf-time as a parameter. Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) technology is developing as a promising option for large area lighting applications, with basic properties such as efficiency, color stability and lifetime which approach or even exceed those of conventional lighting and inorganic LED technology and with various interesting additional complementing features.

Introduction A great variety of light emitting materials and excitation mechanisms have been developed for displays and lighting applications

Introduction A great variety of light emitting materials and excitation mechanisms have been developed for displays and lighting applications. In the past decade, the advent of flat panel displays for computer and television applications has greatly increased the investigation of many methods of light emission and control, including the light valve approach (as in LCDs), the gas plasma emission approach, and the solid state emissive approaches.

Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices have received much attention, because they are expected to be a next generation display and light source, thanks to lightweight and flexible organic materials. In addition, they reported a two layered system, in which one layer has roles of host and electron transport properties. One can control RGB colors of emission by selection of a dopant into a host layer.

Chapter 1. Introduction to Organic Light Emitting Devices. Ames, IA: Iowa State University. The materials chosen for the HTL and ETL layers are organic materials that contain several hexagonal and/or pentagonal π -conjugated rings

Chapter 1. The materials chosen for the HTL and ETL layers are organic materials that contain several hexagonal and/or pentagonal π -conjugated rings. The success of their performance is due to the behavior of the π -bonds. They behave as semiconductors, due to the small energy gap between the highest unoccupied π-orbital and the lowest unoccupied π -orbital.

Organic Light-Emitting Devices and Their Applications for Flat-Panel Displays; Qing Wang, Gang Yu, and Jian Wang. Light-Emitting Polymers; Shidi Xun, Dmitrii F. Perepichka, Igor F. Perepichka, Hong Meng, and Fred Wudl. Small-Molecule Materials for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes; Shijian Su, Norman Herron, and Hong Meng. This large, tightly written book discusses the physics and chemistry of light-emitting materials, as well as the technology and engineering of the devices they are used in. The chapters on materials chemistry are especially good. There are also historical sketches to introduce each chapter.

Organic Light Emitting Devices. It includes original contributions on the synthesis of suitable organic materials, fabrication of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) and organic white light emitting devices (WOLEDs), characterization of these.
