I'm restoring a 66 Mustang and bought this book based on the reviews and a forum recommendation. 99% of this book is just a reprint of the factory manual and doesn't have many tips based on experience. Complete waste of money! Search Amazon for "Mustang Part and Body Illustrations" and buy the CD-ROM for your year model instead. It is the same thing as this book, but specific for your year model and ten bucks cheaper. YouTube and Google will guide you on any other issues/tips.

If you are redoing a Beetle, buy "How to Restore Volkswagen Beetle" (ISBN: 1845849469). That is how this book should have been done and is in a class of its own. Unfortunately, no book exists currently for the Mustangs written like that book. The author should stick to writing his fiction novels because he has no business making restoration guides.

This book has alot of information/data but none of it is useful unless you need specific concourse part numbers, etc. Even so, the diagrams are jumbled several to a page making them virtually unreadable and hiding any detail you might be looking for such as how exactly the 1968 headlight bucket attaches to the fender/grill (just as an example). If you need detailed, specific information, it would be best for you to purchase your car's make/model/year factory service manual. The most irritating issue I have with this book is that it's a regurgitation of diagrams and data tables but does not include listings of part numbers to match the diagrams. For instance, the body panel breakdown contains part numbers listed with the body panels but there's no cross-reference to find out what exactly the body panel's name is as you would need to order it from a parts house.

Disappointed in the book. The break downs are poorly illustrated. Wasn’t much help at all

If you are restoring a Mustang between 1964 1/2 and 1973 this is a must have book. There is a ton of valuable information contained in this book that well certainly make your restoration project easier. Anyone who has ever restored a car knows that unles you have a great memory or have taken a lot of pictures, it can sometimes be hard to remember where evything goes. The diagrams in this book leave nothing to guess at.

gift and he loved it
Gravelblade
Useful for the line drawings but that's about it. Numbers assigned to parts don't seem to mean anything and the drawings have to be exploded in order to be readable.
As described.
