I paid three figures for this book, but it was worth it. This was such an easy, enjoyable and engaging read - I had a hard time putting the book down. John Wyer lived through the golden age of auto racing - and he tells it in a typically British style - like it is without a lot of frills. I had wanted to read this book for years and when I finally got a chance I was not disappointed. If you are a fan of sports car racing during the 50s, 60s or 70s then chances are that this book is for you - if you can find an affordable copy! Highly recommended.

Straight from the shoulder, just like it was, with no posturing -- by the maestro of european road racing in the '50s and '60s. Companion piece to Horsman's "Racing in the Rain". I gave my copy to someone who needed it, but it is still one of the few best books of this era. John W. was a great guy. Racing has changed but people have not.
