This book is perfect for new teachers who are entering urban schools for the first time. I work as a non-traditional educator and this was perfect for me and my organization. It has really helped us to create better lesson plans, help with classroom management and gain a better knowledge of the populations we are working with. The format of this book follows new teachers and explains what works and what doesn't. It also offers wide frameworks for understanding the context of the students and why certain styles of classroom management are successful.
