I utilized a prep book from this author about 3 years ago for the hazmat OLR exam. It was perfect and I passed no problem. Practically all the questions were verbatim from the OLR prep book. When I found this for fire instructor 1, I was pretty excited. I studied all the instructor 1 portion of the book which was roughly 300 questions and I knew them inside & out. Unfortunately for me, I spent almost all my time with and only with this book. I just took the pro board written exam today 10/24/14 and was completely dumbfounded by the end of it. There were maybe ten questions tops from the entire prep book that were even remotely similar. The rest of the exam was quite different and was not touched on at all in the prep book. I'm not even sure I passed..., the other 90 I tried tackling with common sense and what I recalled from class. This needs to be updated or changed. Very very disappointed. You're better off saving your $$ abd using the prep questions provided by the original book / cds / online.

Lot of the same question that were on the test. Took the test and passed it on the first try with a 94. Shipping was also fast

I took Fire Instructor I recently and was told the exam was very difficult. I purchased this book hoping it would at least give me the types of questions I would see. That was an understatement. On the 100-question test, I would wager 70-80 of the questions were verbatim taken out of this book. Since you only need a 70 to pass (I got an 88) it was a breeze. Buy this book, go through the sample questions, pass Fire Instructor I. It's really that easy.

I don't think I would have passed on the first time without it. The class was very dry and the text was worse, but was a great sleeping aid. The prep guide identified areas to review so that things made sense. Make life easy and get this guide.

Somewhat repetitive of some sample tests I found online but all in all great preparation for the certification exam

WOW! Took test for the county for Fire Inspector 1 and relied heavly on Exam Prep (Fire Inspector 1&2). The test was tough, tough and did I say tough! Exam Prep only helped me with about five questions out of 200. Did what the book said and read it cover to cover. I don't know my results yet but will let you know soon.

Good study guide, some of the answers in the key were incorrect.
