but then you see the changes Lyndon Johnson was able to enact almost immidiately on assuming office and you must wonder if that was really the case. Despite these shortcomings, this is truly an exceptional book with a novel thesis, exploring the pre-NOW, on/feminist movements of the 1960s and 1970s in greater and more cohesive detail than I have seen anywhere else.
