Just as good as the conversations are the pictures. So Charles Lutwidge became Carolus Ludovicus, which, reversed, became Lewis Carroll. It is just like something out of Wonderland

Just as good as the conversations are the pictures. These were drawn by a famous political cartoonist called John Tenniel and they bring the strange world of Wonderland vividly to life. There are lizards flying out of chimney pots, fat men doing amazing somersaults, frogs dressed as footmen and a large Cheshire Cat with a huge grin. My favourite illustration in the whole book is the very first. It is just like something out of Wonderland. When I was nine, I was thrilled when it was announced that the school play that year was to be an adaptation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her, and to wonder what would happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything: then, she looked at the sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves: here and there were maps and pictures hung on pegs.

This books sits proudly on our bookshelf. She has always been a avid fan of printed books. She detests but understand the need for e-readers (like the Kindle which I personally own). But she has a jones for printed books. If they are in hardcover (like this one) she is gaga over it.

This Lewis Carroll's Best Series & trust me when I say you have to be in the state of mind to deal with such literature. My girlfriend has been an avid fan of Lewis Carroll's for years and she finally got this copy. I love the gratitude as much as she loves the book.

Love Amazon's prompt service and look forward to ordering from them again!

Lewis Carroll must've been the greatest children's book author of his time. I really admire his writing style and the creativity of his books, having grown up on them since I was 6. I've got a bunch of his novels in hardcover and paperback sitting on my shelves, so it seemed only right to add some digital versions to my library :)

Anyway, I came here looking for Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and found this set, and for a mere 99 cents it seemed worth a look. As far as I'm concerned, it was definitely well worth it. In fact, for the quality of the product, I think it's underpriced. The books are organized by publication date in a handy table of contents which makes it easy to navigate and the editing is good too. Overall I'm very satisfied with this anthology.
