Two new chapters have been added to offer the most current information in the field. One addresses the unique design challenges and opportunities when working with different technologies. It also illustrates how to apply and adapt the design model when working with these technologies. The other presents a combination of information on the ID proposal and project management. Doesn't give much for K-12 teachers. More geared to trainers and instructional designers in industry. Also, it could be better organized. Last, but most importantly. I bought this online version because I needed it FAST. I then bought an older version of the text (5th) (paper) and found that it was almost identical for a fraction of the price.

This was not a textbook, but a pile of papers! So expensive and literally fell apart when I opened it... had to buy a binder to put the pages in.

Recommended text for my graduate course. I found the read to be written with a higher-level verbiage than what was necessary. As a result, it made for a long read although the content was important for instructional design.

I had to purchase this for a graduate class. It is a great reference for my field. I am glad I purchased it. It was a good investment.

This book offers a series of vignettes on the building of instructional systems designs that work. Quality techniques to particular academic methods. It is a collection of what works. The introduction is really framework for the papers which follow, indeed, most of the
papers assume a familiarity with instruction, yet the book
would be useful for organizations needing standard operating procedures for designing instruction effectively.
