As a consultant who focuses on small business cash flow, I see many businesses struggling with cash flow issues. Most often, the underlying problem is a lack of understanding about the critical importance of cash flow for small businesses. As many business owners soon find out Profit and Cash Flow are very different creatures.

Denise O'Berry, who I first met through her popular MYOB forum, has a depth of knowledge regarding small businesses that is based on practical experience. She is not a consultant who lives in an ivory tower, but a small business owner who understands the day-to-day challenges of running a business. Her experience helping other businesses makes her a great resource for other small business owners.

This book is very practical, contains no accounting or business theory, it is perfectly suited for the small business owner looking to understand and manage cash flow. In these tight economic times, there is no more critical business skill than managing cash flow. This book is a great place to start!

This book gave me hope again! I had reached a major cash flow crunch in my business where I was thinking about throwing in the towel. Reading this book gave me solid action items that I could implement immediately to manage my cash flow better and improve cash coming into my business.

Many books are very theoretical with no real "meat" to help you solve your problems. This book had practical workable ideas that I could implement right away.

It made me hopeful and positive that I can turn my business around to generate positive cash flow. This book I will return to time and time again.

I was looking for a book that could help me consult small businesses from a cash flow perspective and I think this book really hits the spot. Cash flow and management are the two most important things to the success of all businesses. If you can manage your cash flow, your golden. This book breaks down everything from finding the right accountant to improving business processes. By linking everything back to cash flow quantifies every aspect of business development. This book provides many great ideas that can be directly be applied to any business to improve its success. I am sure there are many books that can provide the perspective this book provides on saving money, documenting processes, and investing in marketing, but I enjoyed that the author links everything back to cash flow. I view this book as a cheat sheet for thinking about things to improve size or type of business.

If you are looking for a very basic read to understand small business cash flow and accounting terms this is an alright start. If you want anything remotely more specific you are wasting your time.

I'm a first-time business owner past the point of being an absolute neophyte but still one with a lot to learn. This book gave me a real roadmap to growing my business from hiring an accountant to managing cash flow shortages. If that wasn't enough, Ms. O'Berry gives useful worksheets and samples that you can use or adapt to suit your business. I highly recommend this book as an absolute must-read.

Simple to understand and great contents. Thanks Denise, it gives clarity for me to identify gaps and take actions.
For a book on Cash Flow I think it is worded awkwardly and uses odd terms. Talks about budgeting for a year--in cash--and uses "sales and expenses" for cash terms rather than "receivables and payables".
