John Comfort Fillmore, a professional musician, added a "Report on the Structural Peculiarities of the Music". Very interesting history of musical traditions. One of the best collections I've seen; however don't look for much/any translation of the lyrics. The emphasis is mostly on music that was sung or chanted although about 5 instrumental pieces come at the end of the book. If you want to play on Native American flute, prepare to transpose virtually every song in the book.
