The Inside Passage (French: Passage Intérieur) is a coastal route for ships and boats along a network of passages which weave through the islands on the Pacific NW coast of North America. The route extends from southeastern Alaska, in the United States, through western British Columbia, in Canada, to northwestern Washington state, in the United States. Ships using the route can avoid some of the bad weather in the open ocean and may visit some of the many isolated communities along the route

Port Hardy to Prince Rupert Inside Passage Trip. This is rather disppointing, we are booked on the inside passage trip in June and this wqs going to one of the highlights of the holiday. I will be travelling on this late June 07 and have booked a cabin as well. Given it's a 15hr trip, I don't want to miss the best parts! i would just like to know when should I be up on deck to catch the best scenery and when should i take a nap? I depart Port Hardy at 7:30am and arrive in Prince Rupert at 10:30pm. The guide books say it is quite spectacular. Report inappropriate content.

The Northeast Passage (abbreviated as NEP) is, from the European and northern Atlantic point of view, the shipping route to the Pacific Ocean, along the Arctic coasts of Norway and Russia. The western route through the islands of Canada is accordingly called the Northwest Passage (NWP). The NEP traverses (from west to east) the Barents Sea, Kara Sea, Laptev Sea, East Siberian Sea, and Chukchi Sea, and it includes the Northern Sea Route (NSR)
