I am so-o glad that one of my dollmaking friends recommended this book to me. Its focus is American made dolls for actual play. Covers very early time period (Colonial) to more modern.

It is colorful, tremendously interesting and informative and fun. Thank goodness for another really good book to add to my collection.

Also highly recommended is The Wendy Lavitt book, American Folk Dolls, that has been my bible for years.
