I'm probably not the best person to write a cookbook review as I enjoy almost all the Kosher cookbooks on the market and feel they each have something of value to offer..... Although I only eat healthy and organic, I find it easy to substitute in most recipes and so far the recipes I've tried in this book I have not had to substitute anything and they came out great. I never except one cookbook to be perfect, but this has some new and unusual (in a good way) easy to follow recipes that enhance my shabbat and everyday dinners.

I have the Author's first two cookbooks and was so excited to see the publication of her latest book! At first glance, what I loved about this book were the simplicity of the recipes, the layout easy to use with the ingredients bolded, and the beautiful colorful photographs of some of the dishes. The book offers many good tips and suggestions during preparation as well as a very helpful section on the types of equipment the Author uses and recommends. I am not Kosher, but find the book extremely useful when entertaining guests who do keep kosher style. There are so many healthy recipes to choose from and will enjoy cooking and experimenting with many of them for years to come.

While helping with the cleanup after a holiday dinner at a friend's home, I noticed that Helen Nash's New Kosher Cuisine was displayed above the kitchen sink. So to make conversation, I asked if the recipes were in the book were any good. To which my friend replied, "You tell me." I thought about it and laughed. Apparently, the entire dinner came from the book. Everything was so great! She served stuffed Portobello mushrooms, short ribs (to die for), ratatouille (I love it) and chocolate cake for dessert.

The following weekend, I was so inspired I bought the book and served up some goodies for my own family. What a treat. The other recipes lived up to the first meal I had from Helen Nash's cookbook! I highly recommend the book to everyone who loves to cook and to eat.

I recently tried the Vegetarian Burgers and paired it with the Roasted Butternut Squash and Roasted Cauliflower recipes found on pgs. 120, 124 and 270. I am not surprised in the least that everything was a real hit! The burgers came out juicy and delicious even though I needed to substitute pecans for the walnuts. I prefer to cook with only a few fresh ingredients because I like to keep things simple and focus on mastering the dish. That's what first attracted me to the recipes in Helen Nash's New Kosher Cuisine. I am happy to say that from what I have tasted so far, the recipes are flavorful without being overly-seasoned. This book makes it a no-brainer to prepare foods in a healthy way with a bit of style to boot. I like that this book is clear, concise and easy to follow with helpful tips and techniques at the back. I recommend this book! It has something in it for everyone. I liked it so much that I even gifted it to my sister!
My compliment to Helen Nash for creating this book. This book is truly the greatest cook book I ever have. The title: "Healthy, Simple and Stylish" explains everything about this book.
As a busy working family, I need a simple and healthy idea of food for my family. And with "Stylish" idea from this book you can proudly present them to your guess. I guarantee you that you'll get tons of compliments from your guesses.
My favorite dish is Arctic Char with Honey and Wasabi (page 166), I got lots of compliments for that and my son's favorite desert is Chocolate Velvet Cake (page 279).
The ingredients are easy to find, the preparations are simple and will not take too much time to cook. This book is just perfect for everyone.
I am Asian and I love Kosher because in my opinion Kosher is about Better Quality. And with better quality of ingredients you will get a better quality of food. Kosher is for everyone. Enjoy!
