A great book for your favorite recipes! There's plenty of room for writing ingredients on each page as well as different sections, breakfast, soups & salads.. Desserts, ect. It's sturdy and I love that it's on a spiral binding. I have a couple Gooseberry Patch books, always great quality. This will be filled up with delicious recipes in no time!
I needed a centralized and organized place to keep my recipes and this is by far the best book I've found for that. First off, I love the presentation of it. It really is just the kind of cutesy book that makes you smile when you pull it out. The spiral design is very practical because you can lay it out open while cooking and the name is on the end so you can read it when it's put away upright. The contents consist of sections for Breakfasts, Appetizers, Soups & Breads, Sides & Salads, Main Dishes, Desserts, plus three more sections up to you to name, and in the back, there is an index for quick reference. It's very well made with so many cute details, including a handy conversion reference in the front cover. I think my only wish is that there were a few more lines for ingredients... each recipe has 14 lines and some of my more complex dishes have closer to 20, but overall, this is a fabulous purchase and I love it!! I originally was going to keep a binder with my recipes typed up but this is cuter and I think if I had a daughter one day and passed this down, these handwritten recipes would be more special. :)
About 30 years ago, my mom and I bought similar books that we wrote all our family favorite recipes in. Later, when I got married and had children, this book was treasured and used so often that it became known as My Book or Mom's Book. This year, I decided to work with my teen daughters on creating some of our own recipes. We had been writing our recipes down in a notebook, with the intent of creating our own family cookbook. Then, my oldest daughter came home from school last week with a recipe for the banana bread that she'd made in class, I pulled out My Book and we compared recipes. That's when I decided that it was time for the girls to have their very own recipe book that they could fill with recipes that they loved. So, I searched Amazon and found this book. It is very similar to the one I've used for years, both spiral bound, but the main and most positive difference is that this one has a hard front and rear cover. I looked at my poor, old book; the cover was almost ready to fall off, and decided right away to order another one for me! I can't wait to transfer all my old favorites to the new book! ????
This is nice because there the spaces are divided; ingredients on top of page and directions on the bottom. Although the book divided into sections, appetizers; soups & bread; sides & salads; and desserts, I wish it also divided the main sections into beef, chicken, and pasta. It does have a nice amount of empty pages that you can label yourself. Also, the sections are hard to find because there is no tabs. You have to thumb through the pages before finding the start of each section.
Finally found a blank cookbook that I liked using. There is one page for each recipe and an ingredients section at the top. The book is divided into chapters (Breakfast, Salads/Sides, Mains, Desserts, etc) and includes an additional two sections for whatever you would like. The only complaints is that I wish in the back it had a folder so I could also store additional recipes or clippings. Most recipes easily fit on the page, but I did have a few that were longer and I had to squeeze the words. Again on shorter recipes more room to write notes and comments
So far I love it. I wish you could buy more pages for it, but I guess when I fill this one up I'll just have to get another. It has little pictures on some of the pages with little tips and tricks which I thought was cute and learned a couple things I didn't know. I like that it has each course (i.e. dinner, lunch, etc.) sectioned then it has sections where you can add your own like drinks, festive meals or appetizers, or even a specific section like game day. It's cute and I think my family will love it being passed down once I get all of our favorite recipes in it.
In the age of the internet, we all click so many recipes to try off of Facebook and various other cooking recipe websites. I wanted to start tracking these so I bought this cookbook. I love it because I can add in my notes and any modifications I made and write down the recipe like I actually cooked it. I would recommend this for any home cook!
This is exactly what I was looking for! I had some loose recipes that I have collected over the years as well as my favorite recipes from my Pinterest board. I am sick of staring at my phone or iPad while trying to cook and scrolling up and down. I am going to write all of those recipes in this book so they are all in one place.
