Forbidden Legacy book. Author Barbara Goss does not hesitate to tackle the hard and forbidden topics. Here she takes on discrimination, specifically as practiced against the Native Americans in the 19th century.

Forbidden Legacy book. While somewhat Utopian in some aspects, the issues are spelled out clearly while the plot takes you on a voyage of eye-opening discovery.

Forbidden Legacy Barbara Goss 0This book was previously published by Fleming Revell (1989) under the author name Barbara Masci. Scripture quotations in this volume are from the King James Version of the Bible. All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Any unauthorized reprint or use of this book is prohibited. This was a sweet clean read with a Christian message. Barbara Goss doesn't gloss over the prejudices of the time period, but uses them to strengthen her message. Only faith and love can break the mysterious promise. Sarah was raised as a rich lady, but she adjusted well to the hard work on the ranch. Storm was honorable and protective, and didn't let the prejudice shown against his race cause bitterness.

Forbidden Legacy was first published by Fleming Revell and later by Baker Book House. Forbidden Legacy is a well written story full of twists and turns. I love the interweaving of multiple storylines on the way to happult ever after

Forbidden Legacy was first published by Fleming Revell and later by Baker Book House. It has been converted into an eBook by the author. Forbidden Legacy won first prize for fiction at the Christian Writer's Fellowship convention in Titusville, Florida in 1989. It is the first book written by Barbara Goss, but not the last. I love the interweaving of multiple storylines on the way to happult ever after. But you don't really know who gets their HEA until the final pages.

Alexis reached above her head, trying to stretch some of the tension from her neck and back.

Alexis reached above her head, trying to stretch some of the tension from her neck and back very ng-goodnight to her after their first date. Neither man had even offered her a kiss. She didn’t bother to admit that they’d kept a respectful distance because of her foolish assertion she couldn’t handle any more physical contact. God. She was an idiot. Alexis had gone years without having an orgasm she hadn’t given to herself.

Sarah Clarke, a well off 22 year old easterner with corn silk colored hair, has just inherited a Texan ranch from a grandfather she has never met. Although nervous about heading west, Sarah and her great aunt Emily make their way to Dodge City, Kansas. There they are to meet with her grandfather's lawyer, who will escort them over the last leg of the journey from Kansas to Texas. But their lawyer has been detained, so he sends someone else instead: a group of cowboys from her grandfather's ranch. To Sarah's disdain, the group is made up of mostly Indians, as well as a Mexican man and an African-American man. Their leader, Storm, is a half bred Indian who manages the ranch.

Sarah is hesitant to travel with these men. After all, her father had been brutally murdered by Indians. Bur something about Storm tells her she can trust him. And as they make their way to Texas, she becomes fast friends with the other cowboys.

But when they reach her grandfather's ranch, things change. Not everyone at the ranch welcomes her, and there is some question as to whether the ranch really belongs to her or not.

Will these people accept Sarah? Will she get to keep her ranch? And is there a future for her and Storm?

This was a very good book. I really liked Sarah and Storm's characters. And I loved the happy ending.

There were a few times where I felt Sarah acted a little immature, and these were later in the book where I felt she should have known better. There were also a decent amount of typos, mainly with the use of apostrophes, which was frustrating. And there are definitely some relugious overtones to this book. While I think it was done tastefully and with good balance, if religious overtones bother you, then this may may not be the ideal book for you.

Overall, a good book that I would recommend.

FORBIDDEN LEGACY is an amazing historical romance set in the old west.
It is a clean and old fashion read with a few twists. It has a Christian storyline that has different personalities and cultures. It involves the overcoming of racism between Native Americans and white people. The best part is where loving an enemy changes the enemy into a friend for life.

Sarah Clarke, is a very well off 22 year old from Chicago. She had just inherited a Texas ranch from a grandfather that she had never met. Very nervous about heading west, Sarah and her Aunt Emily Ruggles, make their way to Dodge City, Kansas. There they were to meet her grandfather's lawyer, who was to escort them on the last leg of the journey to Texas. Since the lawyer was detained, he sends a group of cowboys from the ranch. The group is made up mostly of Indians, with a Mexican man and a Black man mixed in. Their leader, Storm, is a half-breed Indian who manages the ranch. Sarah is scared since her father had been brutally murdered by Indians. However, something about Storm tells her she can trust him. Soon they ALL become friends. When they reach her grandfather's ranch, things change. Not everyone at the ranch welcomes her and there is some question as to whether the ranch really belongs to her or not. Will Sarah be accepted by these people? Will she get to keep her ranch? And is there a future for her and Storm?

This is an interesting story about love, overcoming prejudice and opening your mind to new views on life and what makes a family. It is a unique, uplifting "G" rated love story that is a great read for romance lovers of all ages.

This is the very first Barbara Goss book that I ever read, and I was hooked. I couldn't put this book down, but life happens, and I found myself looking forward to any free moment I had to read a little further on. With the whole "50 Shades of Gray" epidemic and what we see on TV these days, it is so refreshing to read a love story placed in a time when hearts were pure and love was innocent. Barbara Goss seems to have done her research on these times because she brings up customs and historical events that I have found to be a little strange but very interesting. Now I find myself constantly checking back in to Amazon, hoping that another book has been added to her list.

But you don't really know who gets their HEA until the final pages. Barbara Goss writes a wonderful story and the narration for the audiobook is very well done.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is amazing how the prejudices against the American Indians still goes on today. I am glad your story about Storm and Sarah showed how their love together with God's love can overcome prejudice. I loved your book. I look forward to reading more of your work.
