The next year, Macy returned to discover a drawing by an unidentified little boy on the facing page. Over the next eleven years the children continue to exchange drawings … until tragedy ends visits to the beach house altogether. During her final trip to Sunset, Macy asks her anonymous friend to draw her one last picture and tells him where to hide the guest book in hopes that one day she will return to find it—and him. Twenty-five years after that first picture, Macy is back at Sunset Beach—this time toting a broken family and a hurting heart. One night, alone by the ocean, Macy asks God to help her find the boy she never forgot, the one whose beautiful pictures touched something deep inside of her. Will she ever find him? And if she does, will the guestbook unite them or merely be the relic of a lost childhood?

Who couldn't use two weeks at the beach to fix their problems?! Great summer read with a sweet story of childhood pictures in a guest book leading to grown-up romance and mystery. Letting go of pain from the past, with help from God (if you just turn to Him and ask) - things can turn out pretty wonderful!

This story has everything. Heartache, dealing with death, coming to grips with the past, finding God, and the possibilities for the future. Ever since Macy's dad died the family has been in a downward spiral. Coming back to the beach house after ten years is a chance to face all the feelings and memories. Great story of facing the past, growing up, and finding strength and faith in God.

Macy is a troubled single Mom of darling pre-schooler, Emma.
Together with her Mom, Brenda and older brother, Max the family goes back to their summer cottage at the beach. Macy as a little girl, had drawn pictures as journal entries into the guest book at the cottage. For many years a young boy had answered with drawn pictures of his own. A simple prayer on the beach her first night there brings three men into her life. Which one, if any, is the artist?

I read this one dreary afternoon when I just needed a lighthearted relaxing read. What a thrill to find this endearing book. I loved the Christian emphasis, the characters, and even the fairy tale story line. Thank you for such an enjoyable afternoon.

I could hardly put it down. It shows how we can get off the track of life but when we pray to our Lord He gives us guidance and peace. This story shows us that we need to wait on Him for His timing which is prefect. Well written and the characters seemed real to me. I felt like I was there with them.

I loved reading this book..... Living in NC, I have vacationed at these places over the years. I have never seen the sculpture, but I would like to go back again. This was a story about faith, trust in family and friends and becoming acquainted with the Artist.

A story spun slowly out -- it really paints a picture. It's not an exciting story, but sweet, like a flower slowly opening it's petals. Very satisfying. I truly enjoyed the trip.
These characters seem so real, like you have known them all your life. You feel so drawn into their lives and all they deal with in life. Very believable story lines, and the way each person is dealing with their own heartache and problems, but also their family issues is so real. Loved this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
