If you're a fan of Christian historical fiction (Alexander, Hake, Witemeyer, and others) you will enjoy this light, witty, delightful (as stated above) book. It's easy to read, keeps you interested, and makes you wanna finish it tonite! Although it's in a book series, you do not have to read the books in order for them to make sense; previous characters are revisited, but with simple inclusion into the story line. I especially liked the fun (and some dark) characters in all three books in Mowery's Colorado Runaway series - both male and female, main and supporting - which I read on kindle in one week's time.
Interesting story lines and characters. One glaring error needs correction--"pneumonia" odor from chickens. Who did the editing? I'm no country girl but I assume it should have been ammonia. It almost kept me from finishing the book.
Sweet story with a happy romantic ending. Conflict and resolution were just enough to make this an interesting story that was hard to put down.
I enjoy this author and intend to buy more books. Her stories are entertaining and I enjoy this genre a lot.
This is the first time I have read one of her books. I enjoyed it a lot and will certainly be reading more of her books.
Enjoyed very much.
I just had the opportunity to read and review the second 2 books of the Colorado Runaway Series by Janelle Mowery.

When Love Gets In The Way

"In 1873 a young woman's constant mishaps threaten her well being as well as those around her until her rescuer steps in and attempts to save her once again, not only from herself but the man pursuing her, putting himself in danger's path. She learns grace is more than an attempt at elegance and refinement but is also an act of kindness and compassion."

When Two Hearts Meet

"A young woman heads west running from memories of an accidental death and starts a new nursing job only to have another lady die while in her care. Her confidence wavers as she realizes that saving lives could jeopardize her own when she's attacked by an unknown assailant. As she attempts to heal and comfort those in need, will she be able to bandage the embittered heart of the deputy hunting her attacker and give him the ability to love again?"

Both of the books were wonderful stories deepened by creative characters and exciting events.

Janelle Mowery weaves faith and hope into her books in a way that inspires you to keep reading and keep striving in your own relationship with God. Her passion for writing is clearly seen through her books.

Both books will keep you reading and turning the pages, specifically in When Two Hearts Meet... I really did not know who was behind the attacks until the very end of the book!

I love when a book can keep me guessing.

I also really enjoyed keeping up with all of the characters from the whole series in each book. It was fun to get small glimpses of their lives as each story develops. Seeing all of the characters interact with the newer characters is always a treat.

Another thing that I love about the characters in these books is that the men are strong role models. They aren't perfect but they are real as they work out their faith in God. They have integrity and values that men today need. Our culture has lost some of the chivalry of past generations and this book has reminded me to pray for the men my girls will marry one day!

I would highly recommend these books to anyone who is looking for a book to cuddle up with this winter!

Thank you to Harvest House for supplying these books for my honest review.
