I could relate to the way the character hadn't forgiven God. I especially liked the dialog the main character had about the girl - not understanding what was different about her. It was the love of God shining through her. We recognize it, but we work hard not to admit that is what we are seeing. God had abandoned him in his eyes, but he also knew in the deepest part of his heart that it was God he needed back in his life. (My husband's review.) As for me, I thoroughly enjoyed being swept out to sea for this adventure and discovering that God is there, in the most remote of situations. I loved how the author portrayed that God's sweetness can be found even in those we think we have lost through illnesses we don't understand.

A great story from the beginning to the end. I loved the intricate way the characters were developed. During several of the highly climatic scenes I felt like I was right in the thick of it. The writer did an amazing job at getting me to emotionally connect with each of the characters throughout this quick read. This book should be on the New York Times best seller list, or even a movie with Tom Hanks playing Adam Freeman.

I love good fiction, especially good Christian fiction from authors such as Lynn Austin and Francine Rivers, but this was definitely not my favorite. The story in itself is a good one, but the author spent far too much time and space in the technical details of sailing to keep me interested. It's not a long, arduous book, but it often felt like one. I would have been satisfied with about half of the technical information and siginificantly more character development.

Compelling, with plenty of action (but not too much) and excellent character development. I'm looking out for my sailing friends who would like that aspect in the book. Great Christian message for those with doubts.

One of my students gave me this book for Christmas. What a delightful read! If you aren't a sailor, get ready to be immersed in the lingo. This book does have a Christian message, but it is not preachy, nor is it trite. The main characters are very real and intriguing. The plot development keeps you turning the pages, faster as you go.

A Christian Book by a Christian Author who writes of an experience he saw in his own life that left such a mark on his life and wanted others to see it. The book is well written and will touch your heart strings. It causes you to think how you could help others believe and be happy. Recommend that everyone read this book. You will be glad you did.

This author does an exceptional job of drawing his audience into the ever thickening plot evoking curiosity as to how it will all come together. The story is distinctively one that would appeal to Christian readers; however, because of its outstanding drama, anyone who enjoys novels would not find it offensive.
This book has just the right amount of romance and adventure. I enjoyed the reminders of how much God loves us and how He has a plan for our lives. I am looking forward to reading the author's next book.
