Again, Joyce Meyer, nails it on the head. How much I personally need this book. It is okay to reward yourself, there is a difference between that and indulging yourself. When done in a balanced way, it makes life enjoyable. I need to 'lighten up' and 'learn how to celebrate. I cannot be a 'workaholic' all the time. This book is well-written, and to the point.

Getting Your Hopes Up by Joyce Meyer is a great new book to help you find hope and understanding what hope is in every situation. Evaluating our hearts is an important exercise as we begin this journey of hope together, because hope in God and positive expectation. FaithWords, a division of Hachette Book Group, is a top publisher of books and resources for the Christian market.

Engrained in our culture is the belief that unbending discipline is the only sure way to success. You must go to the gym five times a week, never order the dessert, and don't even think about buying that dress you keep staring at in the store window. Breaking from such a regimented lifestyle is a sign of weakness, right? Wrong!-and Joyce wants to tell us why...Though setting rules in our lives are important, it's just as important that we break them from time-to-time. Structure is a powerful tool, but when diverging from your own goals is seen as catastrophic, it can have a hugely negative effect on us. Balance is a core value in life and every once in awhile we deserve to indulge in a guilty pleasure or two. So don't feel bad about straying from your goals every once-in-awhile and in fact, embrace it: eat the cookie and buy the shoes!

I am not a hung-ho Joyce Meyer fan, but this particular book was very helpful to me. As Christians we sometimes (frequently!) feel that we're not "doing enough," and we have a hard time letting ourselves relax and enjoy the blessings God has put in our lives. This book is full of good, practical advice for learning to let go and celebrate. Anyone who is feeling stressed out over trying to be more responsible will benefit from reading this. There are even some very funny jokes in it. (The one about the dog totally cracked me up!)

So this book encourages us to celebrate our success in life. We should also have fun and not just work work work. She gave example of how to balance work with play. You should not also suffer yourself, God wants you to enjoy life...this life is not a rehearsal!

Again, Joyce Meyer, nails it on the head. How much I personally need this book. I need to 'lighten up' and 'learn how to celebrate.' I cannot be a 'workaholic' all the time. It is not healthy. This book is well-written, and to the point. Very necessary.

A really interesting book that tells you that you can still love God and God loves you even if you slip. We make ourselves feel guilty God doesn't.
