My partner and I are in a long-distance relationship... so we do morning devotions together via email. We've been using 12-step devotionals, as part of our ongoing recovery. We're currently using the Life Recovery Devotional.

Prior to this we've also used Phil Parhem's "Letting God" and the NIV Recovery Devotional Bible. All of these are supposed to take about a year to work through, although we get them to last a bit longer because of missed devotions.

My major critique of this devotional is that 30 days is a long time to stay on one step. So my partner and I do 15 day, and then move to the next step. After getting through Step 12 Day 15, we started over with Step 1 Day 16.

I like the scriptural reading for each devotion.

This is a 30-day devotional based on a selected Scripture for each day that is then linked to one of the 12-steps. Each daily reading is short and to the point, making it an easy and thought provoking inspiration for anyone whether on the go, or studying from home. I highly recommend this devotional reader to anyone working the steps, or that is aware of their own self defeating thoughts, attitudes or behaviors, and wants to be free from the addictive cycle of acting out, falling down, toxic shame, guilt and seeking forgiveness & restoration with God. This is a book about self honesty, breaking past patterns and moving towards the Light of healing and wholeness. Highly recommended!

Very outdated, mostly for alcoholics, and the book itself had dried blood on it. Seller was great about it, but the book itself was not so great. Description is a bit misleading, it's not for ALL people recovering from ALL addictions.

The Devotional is a perfect daily guide to review and renew the steps to recovering from whatever addiction you may have in your life. I carry this little devotional with me so I can open it whenever I need a boost. The authors do an outstanding job of interpreting the scripture to make it applicable to my life. This devotional book has 30 devotions for each of the 12 steps. This is basically one year of daily devotions with Scripture readings and related 12-step thoughts. It really helps one have a great habit of daily devotion that links the Bible and the 12 Steps. A great travel devotional for those in recovery to keep on the path daily as well. It goes well with the Recovery Bible.

If you are recovering from any type of addiction or compulsive behavior, this is a really good way to start the day. IT takes you through the 12 steps, about a month worth of devotions for each one. The lessons are from God's Word, the best source of truth we have.

I love the book for what it is, a devotional book, geared to the 12 steps of addiction recovery. There is a later edition but I prefer this one. I believe both are out of publication now and becoming harder to find.
This recovery Devotional is superior for my 12 step accountability group. We find it enlightening and helpful. The printing is a bit small, but the words, though small, are powerful. We use the devotional in our personal daily devotions as well as at group meetings, after our opening prayer and before our meeting.
