This book is the work of a very successful Young Adults Pastor, who almost stumbled across the power of confession in the lives of the people in his congregation. What resulted from this great discovery was extensive study and teaching on confession, and the ability to relieve the weight of failure and offense, and live a life of truth before God. I really enjoyed it, but felt like it was about a third longer than it really needs to be. Despite that, there are a lot of good points that would be beneficial not only for personal knowledge, but for preparation, if you wanted to do your own teaching. I recommend it.

I will admit this was a hard book to read and I had put it down for a couple of weeks... well actually a couple of months. I did not like what I saw in the mirror after reading the truth about secrets but then I prayed and God showed me that I did not have to be scared or even mad at this truth but I was being blessed with a gift and I had a choice to make. So I picked the book back up and while the process has been slow, I have truly been blessed by this book and realizing the importance of keeping secrets that divide and remove me on my mind from the presence of Jesus versed the spiritual secrets that allow me to lean into God and rest in Him! I feel free!

Rare

The end of this book reminded me of Bonhoeffer's book, Life Together and it came up with many of the same conclusions. This book shows how confession is something that the Body of Christ needs to be real and authentic. Stern has a great section of the book that talks about the difference between transparency and vulnerability that I thought was very thought provoking. As a pastor, this is one of those books that I wish my whole congregation would read.

CONVERSE

This book focuses on the freedom that comes from confession and repentance before God. It shares the hard road to get there and the barriers that sometimes cause us to fall short of total freedom.
This book is a good read, but it is an even better practice.

I have had the pleasure of attending theMill and hearing Pastor Aaron speak in person, so I was hoping this book would fill me with the same inspiration that his sermons do, and I was not disappointed! I couldn't put the book down! It is so wonderful to read about his love for/understanding of Christ and His word. This book was inspirational to say the least. It gave me a new perspective on life and my relationship with Christ. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

I know this book gave me the courage to share and explore things inside of me that I had repressed memories of for YEARS! Thank God for using Aaron Stern to deliver this very important message. A must-read!
