This book is exactly what it claims to be. It is not an exhaustive work on Catholic apologetics. If you want that I would recommend someone like Robert Sungenis or Dave Armstrong. Nonetheless, this book is great starting point for anyone trying to learn about the Catholic faith and why Catholics are right. Now, I would not recommend someone to read this book and start challenging protestants to debates. There is a lot of ground left uncovered in this book. In an interview with WatchMojo.com Coren stated that this book's primary purpose was to give Catholics something to build upon and strengthen their faith NOT to convert people. That is why I give this book 5 stars because it is exactly that. Most protestants will not convert just by reading this one book. As for Coren switching to Anglicanism all I can say is that I am very disappointed. I loved his next two books "Heresy" and "The Future of Catholicism". He is simply wrong and can't even argue against his own arguments in this book. Overall, great book. Keep on studying the faith.

Wish I had the ability to memorize all the facts in this book.
Michael Coren has done all the research for us, explained it to us and phrased it intelligently and interestingly!
So happy to have this book!

Right On! A very good down to earth book on just how it is.

I liked this book a great deal. Coren is plain spoken, and this book is quite clear in debunking myths about Catholicism. Speaking in language anyone can understand, he outlines what the Church believes and what changes have been made over the centuries. He vigorously attacks anti-Catholic arguments , explains Papal "infallibility", and addresses the issue of the abuse scandal which has so haunted the Church.
Coren has a concise way of writing that is reminiscent of CS Lewis. Explaining Catholicism is clearly Coren's passion, and as a fellow convert from the Anglican faith, I enjoyed reading it very much. The salient point, I believe, is that people have a deep rooted misunderstanding of the Catholic Church, and this book takes on that challenge very, very well. Like CS Lewis, he clears things up in a way that anyone can comprehend.
In short, a great read; try it!

I have watched Mr. Coren for nearly a year now via his Canadian television show. Unlike many conservative Christian commentators in America, Mr. Coren kindly and with conviction states his opinion whilst allowing all views to still be heard. He takes the same approach with this book, which is not an attack on other faiths but is Mr. Coren's attempt to clear up confusion about the Catholic Church's history, theology, and cultural beliefs. This book is an excellent read for those wanting to either defend their Catholic beliefs more strongly, or simply for inquisitive minds who want to know more about the Church. I am not even Catholic but have greatly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone.
