After reading the book one might be left with the impression one has when someone describes how they found God and how that pulled them out of depression, anxiety, lethargy or some other predicament. No one would want to tell somebody to abandon a belief that had such beneficial effects, but a personal experience is just that-personal. Whether it translates from one person to another is highly doubtful.

Good book, not fabulous. Old Fashioned Protestant influenced ideas.

This is a wonderful book. In it, Jill Briscoe relates the story of Moses and the deliverance of the people of Israel from Egypt in such a way that she uses it to draw parallels to our Christian walk. She is especially adept at developing premises about why and how we make excuses not to respond to God's promptings about serving Him. Each chapter has discussion questions at the end of it, so it is very appropriate for a Bible Study group. I am using it as a Bible Study with 22 gals. The only problem is that it was published in 1984, so we had to buy used books. I wish Jill Briscoe would re-publish it in 2014!
I highly recommend this book for Bible Study or just for your own reading enjoyment. Midge Shaw
