Although Thomas Aquinas's influence over philosophy endures to this day, the medieval genius did not consider himself a philosopher, but a Scripture scholar. Aquinas's commentaries on the Pauline letters is a great gift for pastors, seminarians, or anyone who seeks a deeper intellectual reflection on Scripture.

This is one of the first volumes of a new project to print Aquinas' complete works. It is a beautiful layout and quite affordable. There are no editorial notes and only a limited introduction. But it provides the Latin original (not a critical text) of Thomas along with a solid English translation. Since many texts of Thomas, including his Pauline commentaries, are difficult to access, having them available with a parallel English translation is a great gift to the theological community. These New Testament commentary volumes, like the 19th century Leonine commentaries on Aristotle, include the original Greek text as well as the Latin translation of the New Testament that (we think) Thomas used as well as an English translation of the Latin. Overall very fine, especially for the price. Binding etc seems very nice, very solid.

This is fabulous, reading it is like going to a lecture given by St Thomas himself. Actually these lectures were given by him and notes taken by his secretary who was careful to get all of his teaching down. Thomas' scriptural commentaries are an essential aspect of his writings. I'm very happy these are being published.
