Beautiful book and beautiful rhymes. Also nicely illustrated.

This is more a book for a child than a serious adult.
The book was in great condition and arrived on time in good packaging. Diane Siebert books are perfect for my social studies/ELA unit.
This book was actually pretty good, I thought, I had to read it for a Children's Book Project for my 8th grade English class. I randomly picked it from a stack, and thought it was nice. It has beautiful imagery and tone, and amazing artistry with the help of Wendell Minor. As you know, this book is at a 2nd-4th grade level, so I didn't really think any of it, just a blatant book for kids, but its actually a poem in a sort of a way, deeply detailed and carefully written.
This is a wonderful book for children of all ages. The poem is poignant, the illustrations are simply breath-taking. It is rare to find a children's book that is filled with such depth. My 6 year old son loves this book, and altho i did need to explain a few lines to him, he was so captivated with the paintings and the rhythm of the prose, that it has become his favorite book.

This book beats the pants off the oft-poorly written Thomas/dora/bob the builder etc books. Get this book for your child, open up his world! you will not regret it!
I regret to inform Diane's readers that she passed away on January 10th from a brain tumor.

She well be missed.
Each double page spread includes a beautiful Wendell Minor paintings. The book is really a poem that is told to you as if the mountains are speaking to you about the aspects of its life. In this book, nature has a voice.
This poem is so wonderfully written and the pictures are so beautiful. Great book for kids.
