My mom bought me a copy of this when I was a very little kid. Me and my sister read the stories.over and over. I took this book everywhere with me! The stories and pictures are old fashioned and as a kid (and adult) I love that. I read this to my daughter now. This is a selection of stories from the much larger book collection called my book house... the original collection is amazing too and I have been trying to get set copy (but it's like 12 volumes long)

This book is perfect for two years to probably six or seven year olds. There is a good collection of poems and stories. Also a lot of the stories aren't well known or included in other collections much... you won't sleeping beauty or snow white in here but you'll find Bellingham the cat Aesop and you'll find the rabbit who wanted red wings and.things like that.

Every once in a while, on a rainy day, I take out My Book House or MY Storybook Treasury and I go back in time. Back to a safe place where all is safe and warm. I remember being sick and reading the books. I remember holding my children and then grandchildren and reading to them. These books have stood the test of time. They work their majic today, just as they did when I was a child. They encourage use of imagination and a closeness between parent and child.
