Katherine Ayres is the author of Family Tree, which has been named to several state award lists, and North by Night: A Story of the Underground Railroad. She is a founding member of the Playwright’s Lab at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. Stealing South will teach you about the underground railroad. The book is about a boy named Will who becomes a peddler to help slaves get to a place where it's safe. This book has some funny moments and some gross parts. I liked this book because I enjoy learning about the underground railroad. This is one of the best books I have ever read. Published by Thriftbooks. During the days of slaves there were two boys. One was named Will and his brother was Tom.
The Underground Railroad, published in 2016, is the sixth novel by American author Colson Whitehead. The alternate history novel tells the story of Cora and Caesar, two slaves in the southeastern United States during the 19th century, who make a bid for freedom from their Georgia plantations by following the Underground Railroad, which the novel depicts as primarily a rail transport system in addition to a series of safe houses and secret routes.
