My book Stealing South is about a 17 year old boy named William Spencer. He used to steal slaves as a boy, but now he has decided to stop and become a peddler boy. Now his most recent slave has asked hem to go to Kentucky and steal his brother and sister and bring them north to Canada. When he gets there the brother has already run for Canada and his sister won't leave without him. Instead of taking the brother and sister he takes the grandmother and 8 other slaves. When they're heading north, they hear that the brother reached Canada and his sister is on her way.

I recommend this book to any one who likes historical fiction. It is full of surprises; its also adventurous. The book is also pretty funny and at some parts it's sad. I really like the character William Spencer because he risks everything he has for the slaves. My favorite part of the book is when the slave owner catches up to them, he searches the wagon but doesn't find them because the wagon has a false bottom and they distract the dogs with bacon grease.

Stealing South was written by Katherine Ayres. During the days of slaves there were two boys. One was named Will and his brother was Tom. One day, near Kentucky, Tom was helping a slave, Noah, get away from his owner. When they were almost to a safe spot they got pulled over by the slave's owner. Luckily they never found Noah because he was hiding in a hole in the floorboards. When the three of them arrived at the safe spot, Noah asked Tom and Will to help his family get out of Kentucky. Tom and Will agreed to help him.
This was one of my favorite books because I think its good that somone cares for the slaves. But if you want to find out if Will and Tom get caught or not, read this book and learn for yourself.

I think Stealing South is a very good book. Although I like North by Night better, it is still very good. This book is about Will Spencer, who is his town leaving town of Atwater, Ohio, to become a peddler at 16. His family has been part of the Underground Railroad for many years. So he decides help Noah, a runaway slave to free his brother and sister before making his way north. But his journey takes much longer than expected. During his trip he meets several very generous people who own slaves and begins to wonder if what he is doing is right. Even though he is against slavery, he doesn't like getting to know people and then taking their slaves. He agrees to take six young boys and an elderly and an elderly woman to the slave market. Instead he takes them all, even Noah's sister, out of slavery. This book is a good page-turner, so once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until you finish the book.

I think that Stealing South is a great book. It's about a teenage boy named Will who lives in Atwater, Ohio. He's going through Cincinnati and Kentucky to get to Canada to help Noah, a slave, escape to freedom. Noah wants Will to rescue both his brother James and his sister Susan, too. On the way Will meets a girl named Elisa and wants her to come with him to help the slaves escape. Will has them float down the river with ropes tied to their waists and a barrel at the other end to help them float. Another problem that Will runs into is some slave hunters go on the wagon set it on fire. If you want to know if they resue Noah's brother and his sister successfully, you should read Stealing South

This is a book about a boy of about 18 from the state of Ohio. His family runs a part of the Underground Railroad, so they are very used to running slaves up to Canada. He wants to go down south to be a peddler, when he is given a mission to help these black slaves on a plantation in Kentucky. So he becomes a peddler with a special wagon capable of carrying slaves. So he goes down South and makes friends with the slave owner, and ends up stealing the slaves from him. And this is the story of this boy and his life before the civil war.
